PENELOPE HOUSE, INC.
Job Title - Grants Manager
Salary Exempt

Summary:
The Grants Manager coordinates and monitors grant-funded programs for Penelope House and assists the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with recordkeeping. This person directs and coordinates the evaluation and monitoring of the grant-funded programs. This person is under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with both the Chief Financial Officer and Grant Writer.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Establish and maintain (with CFO and Grant Writer) program goals and objectives, how funds are to be used, and procedures necessary to maintain funding.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationship with funding source contacts and monitors.
  • Process regular grant submissions (monthly or bimonthly as needed).
  • Maintain internal control procedures to monitor current federal, state, public and private grants.
  • Maintain grant records (both paper and electronic) tracking the expenditure and reimbursement of grant funds.
  • Gather client level statistics for grants, programs, and community reports.
  • Run reports from the information management system
  • Perform all external reporting functions to funders/donors.
  • Assist in the processing of payments and deposits as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining accounting records.
  • Other related duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of public and private sources of funding available to non-profit organizations. . Specific knowledge of relevant policies, guidelines and regulations required for grant implementation and retention. Skills must include an understanding of established processes, grant funding cycles, working knowledge of computers, specifically Microsoft Excel and Office. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to lift 25 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university or the equivalent in training and experience. Accounting/Bookkeeping experience is preferred. Some administrative experience is preferred. Information Management experience is a plus. Must have a valid Alabama Driver’s License and proof of liability insurance. Clearance through the State Central Registry on Child Abuse and Neglect. Must be U.S. citizen or provide proof of eligibility to work in this country.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 per year
